About
Cheryl Brody Franklin
Cheryl Brody Franklin is a writer and editor with more than 10 years of experience in magazine publishing. She was an early "digital adopter" and has worked in both print and digital for her entire career. Cheryl's first job was an editorial assistant at JANE magazine, where she launched janemag.com. She left JANE for CosmoGirl, where she was the first “hybrid” staffer to work on both the magazine and the website. She later worked as a senior editor at InStyle.com, overseeing partnerships and social media.
She was a blogger for Glamour.com's relationship blog, Smitten, and has written for various publications such as Time Out New York and Travel + Leisure, where she was an ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) intern. She is currently a contributing style editor at People.
In 2013, Cheryl left her job at InStyle.com to launch Newhouse NYC, a semester program for Syracuse University Newhouse students who intern during the day and take courses at night. As director of the program, she hires professors, teaches courses and works with students to secure internships at various media companies. So if you're looking for talented interns, feel free to reach out.
She lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
